What to expect as a Coach for CYB and INBC:

All Coaches (Head and Assistant(s)) will need to be NYSCA certified in Basketball before INBC games begin for Insurance purposes and per INBC League Rules.  Certification/training cost is $20 (1 yr) and consists of online "Coaching Youth Sports" and "Basketball" training programs (both must be completed).

To assist table personnel, officials and Club administrators, Coaches MUST visibly wear NYSCA Membership badge and gate Coach's Pass on a lanyard (supplied by CYB) during all INBC League and Tournament games.  You must have the NYSCA plastic certification badge in order to be on the bench as a coach.  INBC Coach's Pass is needed in order to avoid gate fee, without a valid INBC Coach's Pass, you will be required to pay gate fee of $4 (NYSCA badge is not a substitute for Coach's Pass and vice verse).  INBC Coach's pass DOES NOT pass for NYSCA badge!

Note:  Only substitution for a NYSCA certification badge is an OSSAA, School Coaching ID card.  Only an INBC Coach's Pass is needed by School Coaches to get into games free (OSSAA Card will not get you into the game for free).

CYB refunds 100% of the NYSCA certification fees (Up to $20) to parents that volunteer to be head or assistant coaches, offsetting the cost of NYSCA certification.  INBC requires the NYSCA Member ID to be recorded on INBC Team Roster, please email member ID prior to Team Declarations and CYB will refund cost of certification via cash or check.

Background checks through Protect Youth Sports will be conducted by CYB at no cost for new coaches or Coaches that have not had a screening in the past 2 years.  Results must be received prior to practices beginning and reviewed by CYB Board prior to granting coaching status.  CYB will email submission instructions/steps for background check.
