Why did CYB leave Green Country League?
Answer:  Due to INBC 2018-2019 rule changes, Clubs like CYB that were affiliated with multiple leagues cannot continue to do so and be affiliated with INBC.  INBC has had multiple issues over the years with clubs (not necessarily CYB) having overlapping leagues and therefore have put into place this new rule.

In order to keep our INBC Club membership, the CYB Board has elected to no longer be a member of the Green Country Youth Basketball League effective 2018-2019 season.  Collinsville has been an active Green Country Youth Basketball League member for 12+ years and we are grateful for being a part of a wonderful developmental league for Youth basketball players.

How many practices a week and when?

Answer:  For INBC Rec Teams, 2 practices a week are allowed. M-F timeslots available to coaches, 5:30-6:45pm and 7:00-8:15pm. There is an option to practice immediately after school at 3:45pm at CUE and Herald. Some coaches may elect this timeslot. Saturday morning practice timeslots are also available if league or tournament games are not scheduled at gyms. INBC Select teams may practice more than twice a week, there are no practice limitations for Select teams.

What are the differences between INBC Rec and Select?
Answer:  For those of you familiar with Green Country Rec, INBC Rec is very similar, if not identical, to Green Country Rec competitive levels both girls and boys.  The INBC Rec participation rules are a little better than Green Country and the Rec games are only played on Saturday's which has some benefits to working parents and travel.  Per INBC Rec team rules, Rec teams are built via a draft vs. hand-picked to ensure teams are balanced and fair.  CYB will not break-up any 2017-2018 GC or INBC team, however new 2018-2019 Rec teams will undergo a draft (skill level to be assessed via combine, date TBD).

INBC also offers a more competitive level called 'Select'.  This level is for more advanced players where teams are hand-picked by a coach vs a formal 'draft'.  Basic difference, a Coach tells CYB their roster (Select) vs CYB tells a Coach theirs (Rec).
